The Grow Lit Project, Inc., is a non-profit organization that is dedicated and committed to enhancing early learning literacy among youth in underserved and under-resourced communities. Our mission is to provide educational resources and support to empower children in these communities to develop strong reading and comprehension skills from an early age.
At The Grow Lit Project, we firmly believe that literacy is the foundation for success in life. By focusing on early learning, we aim to equip children with the necessary tools to thrive academically and beyond. We understand the challenges faced by youth in underserved communities, where access to quality educational resources may be limited. Therefore, our organization strives to bridge this gap by providing innovative programs and initiatives that foster a love for reading and learning.
Through strategic partnerships with schools, community centers, and local organizations, we are able to reach a wide range of children in need. Our dedicated team of educators and volunteers work tirelessly to create engaging and interactive literacy programs that cater to the unique needs of each community. By tailoring our initiatives to the specific challenges faced by these underserved areas, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve.
The most successful way to improve the reading achievement of low- income children is to increase their access to print. "Children who are read to at least THREE times a week by a family member are twice as likely to score in the top 25% in reading compared to children who are read to less than three times a week."
